Celebrities Collection: Pitt, Jolie win privacy damages from UK tabloid
Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie accepted undisclosed damages on Thursday from a Sunday newspaper in Britain over claims they were separating, their lawyer said.The unmarried actors had sued the News of the World on privacy grounds over a front-page story in January that claimed they had consulted a lawyer and were dividing up their assets and access to their six children.
The story was picked up by media organisations around the world, but the tabloid newspaper has now agreed to publish an apology and pay the couple their costs and damages, their lawyer Keith Schilling said.
Schilling said the couple’s US lawyers had written to the newspaper to inform them the allegations were false but it failed to issue a retraction, and the publication “spawned an array of false stories” all over the world.
“In consequence, when the News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologise for them — thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position — the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue,” Schilling said after the hearing in London’s High Court.
“Today’s victory marks the end of the litigation brought by Brad and Angelina.”
The couple, who were not present in court, would give the damages to charity, Schilling said.
The News of the World, part of Rupert Murdoch’s News International group and one of Britain’s biggest-selling papers, said it would not be commenting on the case. It is expected to publish the apology in Sunday’s edition. - AFP

Angelina Jolie is one of the hottest and sexy celebrity that often appears on many "most beautiful women" lists in magazine and in tabloid press. Now, Jolie is not only the hottest, sexy and most beautiful woman in the world but she is also one of the “The World's Most Powerful Celebrity”.
Thanks to the release of several blockbuster movies and an endless sea of media buzz, Jolie has dethroned Oprah Winfrey to top this year's Celebrity 100 list, Forbes' annual ranking of the world's ultra famous.
Jolie raked in $27 million in the past 12 months thanks to a movie schedule that included "Kung Fu Panda," "Wanted" and the not-yet-released spy thriller "Salt." Even more impressive: The publicity she garnered following the birth of her twins, as well as the consistent headlines she grabs for her philanthropic efforts and her relationship with actor Brad Pitt, who ranks No. 9 on the list.
Oprah Winfrey is now on the second place on the list. Last year, Winfrey has pocketed $275 million, making her the list's top earner.
The Celebrity 100, which includes film and television actors, models, chefs, athletes, authors, and musicians, is a measure of entertainment-related earnings and media visibility (exposure in print, television, radio and online). The earnings estimates consist of pre-tax income between June 2008 and June 2009. Management, agent, and attorney fees are not deducted.
Rounding out the top five on the list are pop icon Madonna ($110 million), singer Beyonce Knowles ($87 million), and golfer Tiger Woods ($110 million).

Interesting Facts About Angelina Jolie
Acting seemed to come by nature to Angelina. She made her debut as a child along side her father Jon Voight in the movie Lookin' to Get Out. A decade later Joile made a modest start to a full fledged acting career with a low budget production titled Cyborg. However, she bagged her first leading role in 1995 in the movie Hackers.
Though the actress has fair share of fan following, she has managed to win the critics in her favor too. She was extremely applauded by the critics for her performance in the movie George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998). The actress has given some award winning performances in her acting tenure. Her performance in the movie titled Girl, Interrupted fetched her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1999. However, it was her movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider that gave an all together different route to her acting career. The movie established Angelina Jolie as one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Angelina Jolie Voight
Angelina began training and performing at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute at around 12. She was seen in several stage productions at the Institute. She worked as a professional model in London, New York and Los Angeles, and has also appeared in music videos for such artists as the Rolling Stones, Meat Loaf, Lenny Kravitz, Antonello Venditti and The Lemonheads. In addition, she has acted in five student films for the USC School of Cinema, all directed by her brother, James Haven Voight. She landed her first feature film starring part in HACKERS, about a group of high school computer hackers. Previously, she had roles in independent features Gathering Evidence and Oh No, Not Her.
Angelina was recently married to her co-star from Hackers, Jonny Lee Miller. The marriage took place in May of 1996 where she wore black rubber clothes (although they are now divorced). She has a extensive dagger collection (likes knives) and has several tattoos (one is the Japanese word for death on her shoulder). Today Angelina splits her time between New York and Los Angeles.
